Eugene Family Scoop - Weekend Edition (May 15-17, 2026)

Hello my friends!

As the weather warms up, weekends are getting busier! With so many activities happening, we have less time for chores and grocery runs. My saving grace? Grocery delivery (Costco and Instacart) has been a huge time saver, giving us more time to enjoy these events together. Easy meals prepped in big batches during the week help too! What parenting hacks are working for you? I'd love to know!

Here are some highlights this weekend:

🌸 Wildflower Festival at Mount Pisgah Sunday 10am-5pm! A beloved annual celebration featuring 250+ local wildflower species, live music (Colibrí Ballet Folklórico, Satori Bob, Llorona, Samba Ja), guided nature walks, Art in Nature Trail, and local food and craft vendors. Arboretum members always get in free!

🚒 Touch-A-Truck Saturday 10am-3pm at Valley River Center! Get up close with dump trucks, recycling trucks, fire engines, and more. Kids can climb inside, honk the horns, snap photos, and meet local heroes. FREE fundraiser supporting the Junior League of Eugene.

🦎 Eugene Reptile Show & Pet Expo all weekend at Lane Events Center! See amazing reptiles and more. General admission $12, kids 7-12 $5.

🛼 Tie Dye Skate Party Saturday 3-5pm & 6-8pm at Bob Keefer! Celebrate the 60s in music and style. Wear your favorite tie-dye while a DJ plays classic grooves. $8-$11.

🏃 YMCA Healthy Kids Day Saturday 10am-1pm! FREE celebration with games, activities, group exercise demos, healthy snacks, contests, prizes, and community partner booths.

🐾 Bark in the Park Sunday morning! 2K, 5K, 10K run/walk with 1,000+ dogs benefiting Greenhill Humane Society. New this year: "Fast Furless 5K" for dog-free runners!

🚲 World's Shortest Bike Race Sunday noon at Falling Sky Brewing! Test your endurance on the legendary "13.05 Feet of Hell" course. Three races: Kids (12 & under), Slowest Race (cross the finish line last!), and World's Shortest Race. Hilarious Bike Month celebration for the whole family!
